As my life marches on, so too do the logos! I detailed my love of shopping malls last year and introduced a retro new logo for the event “Mall Tour 2016”. Last years event was so successful that I’ve decided to bring it back for another year, and thus “Mall Tour 2017” was born. With the creation of any event comes my love of designing logos.

The new revitalized Mall Tour 2017 logo is colorful, simplistic and details the exploratory spirit of the Mall Tour itself. Its design is loosely inspired by an old SEGA arcade game called “Daytona USA”, a game in which you’d drive all over the country, seeing all there was to see. Similarly the Mall Tour is all about journeys near and far and the different things you’ll see and do while in those locations.
The logo’s big bold text is also a reference to the bold spirit of the Mall Tour and a throwback to the 1990’s, a decade in which malls were very popular in the US (although maybe not quite as popular as the the 1980s).
It is my sincere hope that this year’s Mall Tour event will be just as successful and enjoyable as last years but until I know that for sure, this logo serves as a reminder of what has been and what’s to come. Embrace the unknown.
