A new album project from Bobby Gaines brings forth exciting new challenges and opportunities to grow as a musician and artist! The inner growth begins here…

In 2014, I spent a lot of time producing my 8th studio album, entitled “Re-Invented”. The album was more than a flashy album cover, however, and while I enjoyed going off in exotic new directions, my 2015 effort will focus more on getting down to basics and also improving on musical mechanics as a whole. Similarly, the art style of this album (as well as future artistic endeavors) will center around being thorough, professional and also at the height of my game as a designer.

Entering my 2nd full year out of college, it’s to be expected that there will be some dramatic growth as an artist. Having designed album covers before (for myself and for other projects), I was able to use some of that experience to create an enthralling album cover that encapsulates some of the experiences of my music writing over the years.

There has been a ton of experimenting with sounds in my past albums (as depicted by the hand drawn  chaos behind my main “characters”) and with that experimentation has come varying degrees of success and failure, triumph and defeat and a large gamut of emotions that are involved when speaking of any long term project.

“Actions Speak Louder” has been no different, so I thought “what better way to put this into imagery than to depict myself in a number of ways?” In doing so, the album cover conveys a comic book feel while still feeling and looking like a professional music cover. The variety of imagery and emotions will come together later this year as my 9th studio album takes shape. It has already been an exciting journey for me and I look forward to sharing more of these artistic moments with the web as the project advances.
