Between 2008 and 2014, I had the pleasure of owning a silver Pontiac Grand Am. The car ran great, looked great and was (in my opinion) one of the best cars GM has ever made. Through 6 tumultuous years, my reliable Pontiac took me through unfamiliar roads and some bumpy rides. It was my car the night of my fateful college graduation and there were several other memories and even artistic uses (more on that in a future post) for the 2005 Grand Am.
Unfortunately on October 24, 2014, the 2005 Grand Am made its final ride, before an accident totaled the vehicle, but the memories lived on. So much so, in fact, that I decided to make rare use of my musician skills and commission a song for my favorite vehicle, entitled “Silver Linings”.
That song can be found here , but more importantly was the slew of artwork this endeavor produced, some old, some new, and some using iconic American imagery as an influence. In fact, it is still my belief that GM should continue the Pontiac, as it was a classic institution in automobile history and still revered by car lovers worldwide for their distinguished look and stance as a sports car among consumer brands.
