Re-Invented

As I enter my professional life, transitioning from my days as a student, I want my art styles to transition along with me. For years, I’ve tried my hand at music, videography, photography and all variety of media because I never wanted to commit to one particular direction. As I’ve matured, I’ve found favor with certain cartoon/anime inspired art forms, as well as art-deco, bauhaus and other popular styles. I’ve also tried inventing my own styles, running the gamut between refined and disorienting.

This personal endeavor sums up who and what I wish to become as an artist. This poster was hand-drawn, photographed and digitized. Many of the images drawn in the background are references to my personal life, hobbies and interests, while others are completely obscure. Certain elements reference machinery, computers and digitization, while others try to hearken back to a more primitive form of art, with simple lines and boxes. This is one of my more recent works and one that I am quite fond of because it does such a great job of tying together the different styles I love so much and am willing to work with.

As I seek to explore the vast expanses of the art world, I'm lost in a mess of forms and in-congruent elements.
